Overview

Nagaise’s trait, Deceit Aura allows Nagaise to support slower teammates, punish faster opponents, deter setup, or sweep. Nagaise can fill many roles but traditionally serves the role of a setup sweeper with Madness Buff that passively supports its teammates with its trait. Its typing is very polarized, allowing it to pivot into many threats, but also leaving it vulnerable to many others. Nagaise with its other trait, Water Custodian, serves as a fast offensive glass cannon that can pivot into certain types.

DA Nagaise long sat atop tier lists for Temtem through most of its lifespan, Crema has taken the nerf bat to the tem substantially, now causing Deceit Aura to incur a HP penalty when Nagaise is on the battlefield. This severely lessens the boards that Nagaise can have impact on, but on the right team, it can still thrive.

Baton Pass is a very useful gear, as often you will want to leave with Nagaise on turn 1, preserving Deceit Aura for a better boardstate to leverage it with. Once in a good spot, or properly protected, Nagaise can go to town with Nagaise's Fury, Beta Burst, and Psy Surge, the last of which actually goes quite "fast" in Deceit Aura. With only one turn left before the aura expires, you can use Lullaby to sleep both enemies - then, the following turn, they will once again move before your tems if they're slow, and miss two turns due to Lullaby instead of the usual one. Note that the speed listed here is for a Nagaise with 1 SV in speed play off of ladder, on ladder Nagaise's speed will be 197, so plan accordingly.

Electric Custodian tems do a great job of protecting Nagaise from, well, electric attacks. A special shoutout as well to Goolder, who can use Bamboozle at very low speed to assist Nagaise with protecting itself from threats that "outspeed" it in Deceit Aura.
